Marketing plans: "IT'S JUST PAPER"

By Cindy Shaft

Call any real estate company and they will probably be very eager to share their "Marketing Plan" with you. What exactly is a marketing plan? When an agent comes and spreads out charts, graphs, touts all the web sites your home will go on and how every agent in their office will all know your home is for sale, the truth is none of this will usually assist you in any way in selling your home. Agents use this material to justify large commission rates. What can they say? They are trying to protect their hefty commission rate.

The biggest concern you have when picking an agent is commission. I charge only 2% as long as I am the agent on your new home. Never believe the lie an agent tells you that with reduced commission you get reduced service. Never with me as your agent.

When you see that huge billboard with the agent holding the phone to their ear ask yourself "How exactly does that assist me in selling my home?" It doesn't, the purpose of the billboard is to attract more clients for the agent and YOU were the one that paid for that billboard with high commission rates.

As for Realtor.com-you go there for free, once your home is put into FMLS, not because some company is spending big bucks to put you there and using this as an excuse for the 7% commission charge.

E-mail me about representing you for only 1.5% commission.
